Platform selection is a topic that generates a lot of debate. On the surface, the majority of platforms in the market offer a similar proposition: a range of tax wrappers and investment solutions to help you meet client demand, deliver efficiencies and reduce risk within your operating model.
Most adviser firms will have done some form of client segmentation in adherence to the FCA’s Product Intervention and Product Governance Sourcebook (PROD) legislation. More information on meeting your PROD responsibilities can be found here.
An example of a client-centric approach might be to look at the life stages of your clients. This should help highlight the level and type of service that should be offered to clients in each segment.
